About us: Artificial Intelligence consulting from Wales

We started because too many AI projects were failing. Not from bad science, but from bad scoping. Here is who we are and how we think about the work.

Our story

Supreme Ai Consult was founded in 2021 by two machine learning engineers who had spent the previous decade building models inside large organisations. They kept seeing the same pattern: a company would hire a data science team, spend six months on a model, and then struggle to get it into production. The model would sit in a notebook. Nobody used it.

The fix was obvious. Scope smaller. Prove value in weeks, not quarters. Build for deployment from day one, not as an afterthought. That idea became the founding principle of this consultancy.

We are based in North Doyleworth, Wales. Our office is small on purpose. We keep the team lean so that every client works directly with senior engineers, not junior analysts learning on the job. When a project needs specialist skills we do not have in-house, we bring in vetted contractors rather than pretend we can do everything.

Since 2021 we have completed 47 projects across retail, insurance, manufacturing, legal tech and logistics. Thirty-nine of those models are still running in production today. The eight that are not were proof-of-concepts where the client decided the ROI did not justify scaling, which is a perfectly good outcome. Knowing when not to build is part of what we do.

What guides our decisions

These are not abstract ideals pinned to a wall. They are rules we use when making trade-offs on real projects.

Prove it first

We do not ask anyone to commit a large budget before seeing a working prototype. Every project starts with a small, testable deliverable. If the numbers do not hold up, we say so and stop.

No lock-in

You own the code, the model weights and the documentation. We use open-source frameworks and standard cloud services. If you want to switch providers tomorrow, you can.

Respect the clock

Deadlines matter. We quote timelines we can hit, and we have a 91% on-time delivery rate across all projects since launch. When delays happen, we flag them early and explain why.

Measure what matters

Accuracy is only useful if it maps to a business metric. We define success in terms you care about: revenue recovered, hours saved, error rates reduced. Vanity metrics stay out of our reports.

The team

Four permanent staff, plus a network of specialist contractors we bring in for specific domains like medical imaging or Bayesian time-series work.

How we got here

A short timeline of the consultancy so far.

March 2021

Megan and Rhys register Supreme Ai Consult and take on the first client: a small insurance broker in Swansea needing automated claim triage. The model went live in five weeks.

September 2021

Fifth project completed. We move from a home office to a shared workspace in North Doyleworth. Elin joins as our first hire.

April 2022

First computer vision deployment: a ceramic tile defect detector for a factory near Bridgend. The project attracted two more manufacturing clients within three months.

January 2023

James joins to handle growing project coordination needs. We formalise our support plan structure and begin offering twelve-month maintenance contracts.

October 2023

Thirtieth project completed. We begin publishing quarterly model performance benchmarks for active clients, increasing transparency around ongoing value.

2024 and beyond

We are expanding into generative AI applications for document drafting and structured data synthesis. Two pilot projects are underway with legal and healthcare clients.
